phillumeni ("we", "the app") is a matchbook-collecting app where you save the places whose matchbooks you've found, rank them, and follow other collectors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We keep this deliberately short and plain.
What we collect
Account info — your email address and the name you enter at sign-up. Your email is used only to sign you in and, if you ask, to reset your password.
Your collection — the venues you add, your rankings and scores, and who you follow.
Photos you upload — pictures of matchbooks and an optional profile photo. Matchbook photos appear on that venue's page to other collectors; your profile photo appears next to your name.
Venue locations — a spot's location on the map is the location of that place (a bar or restaurant), which you choose when adding it — not your own whereabouts. Two optional features use your device location: the map's "locate me" button, which stays on your device only to center the map; and "Matchbook Run," which sends your starting location to Mapbox (see below) in real time to plan a driving route past spots along the way. We never store your location or send it to our own servers.
Trade chat messages — when you trade with another collector, the messages you send in that private one-to-one chat are stored so both of you can read the conversation. A chat is visible only to the two collectors in the trade — plus a human moderator if one of you reports it. If you delete your account, the contents of your messages are removed.
Basic technical data — standard logs (e.g. IP address, device/browser type) that our hosting and database providers record to run and secure the service.
How your information is shared
Your collection and rankings are visible to people who follow you — not to the public. Someone who doesn't follow you sees only your name, photo, and city. City and World leaderboards show average scores per venue across all collectors, never tied to your name.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We share data only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf to make the app work:
Supabase — database, sign-in, and photo storage.
Mapbox — maps, address search, and route planning. When you search for a place, that search text and the map area are sent to Mapbox; when you use Matchbook Run, your starting location is sent to Mapbox to compute a driving route. Mapbox returns the results in real time; we don't store this.
Vercel — hosts and serves the app.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app. This immediately and irreversibly removes your profile, your collection and rankings, your follows, and the photos you uploaded. Shared venues you were the first to add remain on the map for other collectors, but are no longer linked to you.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is removed as described above. Standard provider logs may persist for a short period as part of normal security and backup routines.
Children
phillumeni is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app.
